What’s Happening at Blakely Hall?

Community Center Closed for Maintenance Throughout March

The Blakely Hall community center is closed for the remainder of March as crews provide upgrades to the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system. The previous system had aged, so due to increasing maintenance costs and expected costly repairs, it was time for a replacement.

At the same time, the Highlands Council Board of Trustees decided to add air conditioning to the Blakely Hall system, which will benefit the community in the increasingly hot Issaquah summer season.

HVAC systems are an important component of any community center, providing a comfortable and healthy indoor environment for visitors and employees, while also helping to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.

All offices within Blakely Hall will remain closed throughout the renovation, including Highlands Council and Highlands Fiber Network (HFN). Staff is working remotely and available by email or voicemail, so please reach out.

Community groups such as Minecraft Mania, Game Night, Chess Club, Tai Chi Fitness Class, Poker Night and Book Club will also be canceled all month. However, several virtual groups are still meeting this month: Yarns & Threads Group, Meditation Group and Photography Group. Learn more about these groups at https://staging.issaquahhighlands.com/events/.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Blakely Hall for our final Village Market of the season on Saturday, April 1!

If you have any questions about the closure, please contact Executive Director Lindsey Pinkston.
