Scavenger Hunt Adventures

When: Year-round at your own pace

Crossing Paths with Carnivores Adventure

Highlands Council partnered with the Woodland Park Zoo’s Carnivore Coexistence Action Team to develop a fun, 12-stop adventure called “Crossing Paths with Carnivores” that will lead you to find clues, solve puzzles, and complete adventures one location at a time. Learn More

Garage Sale

Community-Wide Garage Sales

When: Twice a year (typically the third Saturday in June and September), as approved by the Issaquah Highlands Community Association

Whether it’s a yard sale or a garage sale, it’s a community tradition! Sell or shop throughout the community at the semi-annual Issaquah Highlands Community-Wide Garage Sale. Global Grub & Groove

When: Summer

Join friends and neighbors at Village Green for fun, food, and free entertainment to celebrate culture and community! Each event honors a different culture in Issaquah Highlands. Find more information on the web calendar as events approach.

Candidate Forums

When: Summer/Fall

Hear directly from candidates running for local office and learn their positions on issues affecting our community. Forums are moderator-led and driven by community-generated questions. Find more information on the web calendar as events approach. 

Mimosa Morning

When: Beginning of the school year

Swing by Blakely Hall on the first day of school to celebrate with friends and neighbors! Enjoy coffee, mimosas, and a light breakfast. All are welcome (age 21 and over). Find more information on the web calendar as the event approaches. 

Fall-O-Ween Home Decorating Contest

When: October

Decorate the exterior of your home for a chance to win spooktacular prizes! The top two best-dressed homes in “Haunted Halloween” and “Fall Festive Home” categories win. Youth (up to 12th grade) can also enter their carved or decorated pumpkins! Prizes are awarded for each age group category. Find more details on the contest web page. Veterans Day

When: November 11

Join Issaquah Highlands veterans, their families, and community members for Issaquah Highlands’ annual Veterans Day celebration to honor our veterans. Find more information on the web calendar as the event approaches.

Shop Local Holiday Bazaar

When: Late November

Enjoy family fun and shopping from local vendors to celebrate the holidays with complimentary hot chocolate and coffee and fun activities for kids. Call for vendors occurs in late summer. Find more information on the web calendar as the event approaches.

Parents Night Out

When: Early December

Kids in kindergarten through fifth grade enjoy a night at Blakely Hall with games, snacks, crafts, and a holiday movie, supervised by Highlands Council and the Highlands Youth Advisory Board. More information published to the web calendar as the event approaches. Limited to Issaquah Highlands residents only.

Letters to Santa

When: Mid-November through early December

Kids of all ages can drop letters to Santa in the special mailbox outside Blakely Hall. No stamp needed; the Highlands Youth Advisory Board will ensure all letters get to the North Pole. All letters dropped by the deadline (published annually in print and digital media) will receive a response.

Light Up the Lanes

When: Late November through mid-December

Whether you celebrate Diwali, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, or any other winter occasion, decorate the exterior of your Issaquah Highlands home and enter the “Light Up the Lanes” holiday décor contest for a chance to win festive prizes. Your entry also counts towards the “Most Festive Neighborhood” contest. Find more details on the contest web page. Limited to Issaquah Highlands residents only.
