Sola Salon Studios, located on Northeast High Street above Ben & Jerry’s, offers an array of talented independent beauty professionals in the privacy of their own suite.

The new salon features 27 studios of varying sizes with personalized services ranging from eyelash extensions to haircuts and face shaves. You can book a stylist here.

The salon offers a variety of barbering services, hairstylists, estheticians and more. Several of the stylists are also residents of Issaquah

Highlands. Amy Keogh from So In Love Lashes offers eyelash extensions, facial waxing, tinting and more from Studio 2. Down the hall, Monique and Quin McMichael of Being Salon provide a wide array of haircut and color services in Studio 27.

As a franchise, Sola Salon owns more than 650 locations nationwide. The unique salon concept allows independent stylists to experience the freedom and benefits of salon ownership.

Each studio in Sola Salon is move-in ready, although stylists have total control to customize their space and add or change anything. Additionally, stylists have 24/7 access to their suites, allowing them to manage their own hours in addition to prices and products.

The business structure requires stylists to sign 1-2-year leases and pay weekly. Each beauty professional must have multiple licenses to operate.

Casey Graham, operations manager for several Sola locations (including Issaquah Highlands), says she has worked in the beauty industry for a long time and was tired of seeing stylists struggle. She wanted to see a change in the commission structure and help those stylists build their own businesses.

Stylists have access to tools such as Sola Pro, which provides exclusive discounts and education around running a business, marketing various services, creating a website and using a booking service. Aside from the individual suites, the salon provides washers and dryers and a break room for stylists.

Graham says stylists enjoy the chance to meet one another and build camaraderie. In fact, many of the beauty professionals

will refer clients to fellow stylists. Sola does not favor any stylists, she notes. The salon wants to focus on supporting all independent, small businesses.

She adds that clients tend to prefer the one-on-one format. It allows for stronger client-stylist relationships, and people feel pampered by the private suites. Several window studios offer gorgeous views of Issaquah Highlands and the greater Seattle area.

Most beauty professionals already have their own clientele and prefer them to book appointments in advance, Graham says. Drop-ins are unlikely.

Anyone can book an appointment by visiting the website here. By selecting the Issaquah Highlands location, you will be able to see all the stylists available for booking. From there, you can check out individual websites for pricing.

Dori the Barber provides luxury cuts and shaves. Her studio also features great views of the community.
