Message of Welcoming: Grand Ridge Plaza Story Stroll

By September 9, 2022General

In honor of Issaquah Welcoming Week, a special Story Stroll is being hosted at Grand Ridge Plaza in Issaquah Highlands.

The Story Stroll—hosted by King County Library System – Issaquah,  Issaquah Highlands and Grand Ridge Plaza—features Be Who You Are by Todd Parr. The book shares a positive message about individuality, diversity and acceptance. Parr encourages readers to embrace all their unique qualities.

Start your reading journey at Seattle Sun Tan in Grand Ridge Plaza and follow the story around the community to its ending message at Ben & Jerry’s.

Story Stroll takes about 15 minutes, and leads you by plenty of places to stop for a treat or a meal along the way! This activity is a creative way for children and adults to enjoy reading while spending time outdoors. The stroll is self-guided and open to the public at any time.

Welcoming Week is a national event—in communities large and small, rural and urban—which celebrates the benefits of an inclusive society and its commitment to creating places that are welcoming to everyone, including immigrants, refugees and those who have been systemically excluded.
