Band and Orchestra Earn Top Festival Recognition
In May, PCMS’s band and orchestra students had the opportunity to perform at Music in the Parks at Silverwood. This nationally recognized music festival brings together school ensembles across the United States and Canada. It was a chance to showcase their musical talents and represent PCMS on a national stage. After months of hard work and preparation, the band and orchestra delivered outstanding performances. PCMS earned first place in all four categories and proudly took home trophies for Best Overall Band and Best Overall Orchestra. Way to go!
SUN Bucks Offers Help with Groceries in Summer
The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services offers a program called SUN Bucks, which is a grocery benefits program to help families buy food during the summer when schools are closed. Families get $120 for each eligible school-age child. Children who get these benefits can still participate in other summer meal programs.
SUN Bucks benefits are loaded onto SUN Bucks EBT cards for each eligible child and mailed to your home. They can be used to buy food such as fruits, vegetables, meat, grains and dairy at grocery stores, farmers markets and other locations.
Your child is eligible if:
- Your household already participates in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or SNAP and your child is ages 8-18 years old.
- Your child attends a school that offers the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program and your household income meets the requirements for free or reduced-price school meals. You may submit a Child Nutrition Eligibility and Education Benefit application at your school to find out if you qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
For more information or to sign up, visit the Washington SUN Bucks Summer EBT Program.
