Every year on 26th January, the people of the biggest democracy in the world, India, come together in patriotic harmony to celebrate Republic day !
26th January, 1950 completed India’s transition from being a British colony to an Independent Republic. It is the day when the Constitution of India came into force and became the official governing document.
The entire nation comes alive to celebrate this important day by participating in ceremonious parades, hoisting the National Flag, singing the anthem and other patriotic songs. This day invokes the patriot in every Indian no matter where they are in the world!
And so, Issaquah Indian Cultural Committee wants to have a get-together for the elderly people to commemorate ‘Republic day’. We want to give a platform for Indian visiting parents to meet and know each other, share contacts, make friends so they do not feel lonely even while visiting their children.
We will have some finger-food/snacks and conduct a Bingo night for them! Free and open to all.
