Have you got extra teen-appropriate books to share? A devoted reader and current Highlands Youth Co-President (been part of the HY board for two years), Chloe Kilzi is hosting a teen book drive as part of her Girl Scout merit program.
The Little Free Bookshop is an ongoing book collection drive that gives new and nearly new books to middle, high school aged kids and teens at the YWCA in the Issaquah Highlands. You may be wondering, how is it different than a library? The Little Free Bookshop provides the opportunity to own books rather than borrowing books. Who doesn’t want to own books!?
The book collection is taking place at Blakey Hall. Donated books will go to the YWCA, from there they will find new permanent owners. The drive is accepting any new or gently used books between now and the end of September. Come and donate a book or few this summer. Read on!
