Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is excited to announce the launch of its innovative Flex Batteries incentive program, designed to help residential customers take control of their home energy usage and save big!
PSE customers can receive a one-time incentive of $1,000 for enrolling in the Flex Batteries program and allowing their home’s battery to be called upon on days when the demand for energy is forecasted to peak. But that’s not all – participants can also earn $500 per year for their continued participation.
“Empowering customers and communities through the seamless integration of innovative new technologies, like residential Battery Energy Storage Systems to harness the power of stored energy, helps create a more reliable, resilient and affordable energy network,” said PSE Vice President Aaron August. “As we continue to help customers adopt new technologies and join our energy orchestra, distributed energy assets will play an even more pivotal role to ease grid strain in extreme summer and winter conditions, make outages invisible to our customers and maximize value for all of us.”
By participating in the program, customers can enjoy a range of benefits, including:
- A one-time incentive of $1,000 for enrolling in the program and allowing PSE to optimize the battery
- Up to $500 per year in additional incentives for their continued participation
- Reduced energy costs by storing excess energy generated by their solar panels or other renewable sources
- Increased grid reliability and resilience during peak energy periods
“We’re committed to helping our customers save energy, save money and reduce their environmental footprint,” August added. “The Flex Batteries program is just one way we’re working to create a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for our region.”
