Join Issaquah Highlands friends and neighbors in the EBC Every Minute Counts Virtual Fitness Challenge! Join the “Issaquah Highlands in Action” team and track your activity through April. Registrations and merchandise fees directly benefit EBC and will help them purchase the essential items that kids need now, more than ever, while you benefit from staying active and connected to the community.
During this unprecedented time of school closings, business closings, and stay-at-home orders in many areas hard hit with COVID-19, we found that many of our friends, volunteers and supporters were seeking out ways to manage stress, motivate the kids to exercise and connect with others. To address these challenging issues, we created the Every Minute Counts Virtual Fitness Challenge to see who can exercise the most minutes during April. Walking, running, yoga, weight lifting, jump rope – almost anything counts! You can participate as part of a team (you are invited to join the “Issaquah Highlands in Action” team!) or as an individual. Spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Let’s work together to keep moving through this crisis!
Also, this contest will help raise money for Eastside Baby Corner as we provide crucial support to children in normal times and in these challenging times. The number of families who need basics to care for their children will be increasing as time goes by. Thousands of people, many of whom live paycheck to paycheck, are already losing their jobs or experiencing reduced hours in response to social distancing measures.
You track minutes for running, walking, yoga, fitness videos, or whatever you do to keep you moving using the RaceDay interface by RaceMenu.
You’ll have four days to log each daily activity. For example, you have until 11:59 pm on April 5 to log your April 1st activity, or until 11:59 pm on April 20 to record your April 16th activity. If you miss the 4-day deadline, you’re out of the challenge. We’ll email and post on Facebook detailed instructions prior to the challenge starting.
It’s okay to be a little competitive if it helps you stay motivated! Check the leader boards on RaceDay daily to follow your friends’ progress and track your team’s results. At the end of the contest, we’ll have awards for most minutes recorded by an individual and as a team. We’ll also give a prize for most average team minutes. Plus, many more prizes to be announced!
