IHCA Board of Directors Update January 2021

The Issaquah Highlands Community Association (IHCA) Board of Directors held their first meeting of the year on January 25. Watch the video for a full recap from Elizabeth Gregg, board representative for District 4 and Daphne Park resident.

January updates include:

  • The IHCA is working with the city of Issaquah Public Works Department to identify crosswalks that need repainting and to install safety lights at major crosswalks on Park Drive near trailheads.
  • Park upgrades will kick off this spring; expect a phased approach, depending on the availability of equipment and materials.
  • The IHCA will extend approval for residents to display booster club signage in 2021.
  • Work to update mailboxes across the community continues.
  • The board is reviewing and approving 2021/2022 budgets, 2021/2022 reserve studies, and updating the IHCA’s 5-year plan.
  • The board is preparing the IHCA’s 2021 community survey, launching in April.
  • Jim Young, IHCA board president, was recently awarded a 2020 Community Builder Award, along with Kimberly Kapustein, Highlands Council Board of Trustees president, and Charlie Herb, president of the Highlands Fiber Network (HFN) board of directors.
  • Stay tuned for details on a new virtual resident orientation event in April.
